USY Is Having a Stop-Light Party! Dec 12th.

USY is throwing a Hanukkah Party on December 12th at TBE! 8th – 12th graders are invited to join USY for food, music, games and tons of fun! Wear Red if you are “taken” Yellow if if “its complicated” and Green if you are “free”!

When: Saturday, Dec. 12th 7:00PM-9:30PM
Where: TBE Youth Lounge
Cost: Entrance fee is a brand new children’s toy. (No stuffed animals). Toys can be for ages 3-16 and are being donated to the Stamford Hospital.

USY Is Going to See Chicago City Limits!

USY is going on a NYC trip to see Chicago City Limits, an improv comedy show. We’ll catch a train at Stamford station around 5:00PM, stop for a quick bite in the city, then head to the comedy center to see an 8PM show. Space is limited so be sure to RSVP sooner rather than later!

Note: You must RSVP to receive specific times for meeting at the train station!

Who: USYers (9th-12th grade)

When: Saturday, Nov 21st with an approx. meeting time of 5:00PM (RSVP for specific travel info).

Where: We’ll meet at Stamford train station. You should be picked up there too.

Cost: $55 for USY Members / $75 for non-members.
Price includes comedy tickets, 2 soft drinks at the show, train and subway fare. Please bring extra cash for dinner in the city.

Kadima Sleepover at TBE

Kadima is having an election day sleepover at TBE. Color war, movies, cookie decorating, sundaes, t-shirt tie dyeing – it’s going to be a fun night. Bring your own white t-shirt for tie dyeing!

Kadima Murder Mystery at the Deadwood Saloon!

Join us for a night of mystery and mayhem at Temple Beth El’s Deadwood Saloon!

For weeks, people have been pouring into the small western town of Deadwood for the biggest poker tournament this side of the Mississippi. From outlaws to marshals and saloon girls to southern belles, everyone has made this small western frontier town THE place to be.

As the festivities of the poker tournament conclude, a celebration party is planned at the Deadwood Saloon to award the prize money for the tournament. It is expected to be a very financially successful venture for the saloon.

With a smattering of bandits, bankers, saloon girls, sheriffs, gamblers, debutantes and of course a few of the locals, this will make for a very interesting evening indeed.

You don’t want to miss this celebration!

When: The 1st Annual Poker Tournament Party will be held on October 17th, 1874 from 7:30PM-9:30PM. Please be sure to arrive by 7:30PM.

Where: The Deadwood Saloon, located (for one night only!) in Temple Beth El’s new social hall

Cost: Free those who joined Kadima during Kadima Activity Day on Sept 13th.

Helpful Notes:

Should you dress in costume? It’s a proven fact that the more into character you are, the easier it will be for you to truly enjoy all the aspects of the night. In addition, it adds to the excitement, the photo opps and your chance to be voted best dressed.

Use Your Money Wisely. Upon arrival you will receive $500 of Deadwood cash to spend any way you choose. Bribery and blackmail are two of the most common uses we found. The wealthiest player at the end of the night will also receive an award for their ability to turn a profit throughout the night.

Caramel apple making, games, prizes – what would be more fun?

Join us for an awesome activity day directly after Hebrew School. There will be a pizza lunch, activities, prizes, caramel apple making and more!

When: Sunday, September 13th directly after Hebrew School until 2pm.

We’ll hang out by the fire, roast marshmallows and make s’mores. Catch up with old friends and make new ones.

Where: The Stamford Nature Center. 39 Scofieldtown Rd.

Who: 9th graders – 12th graders. Bring yourself and a friend if you like.
