ADL Univeristy Response Form – Download

Anti-Semitism, Israel-bashing, the fight for civil rights, a nuclear Iran, combating bullying in schools. These are among the most important issues facing our community – issues we must confront on a regular daily basis.

We are excited to invite you to participate in ADL University, a very special and exclusive leadership forum being made available in Stamford, that will teach us about and guide us in addressing these critical concerns.

As you may know, the Anti-Defamation League is a 96 year-old civil rights and human relations organization dedicated to fighting anti-Semitism as well as bigotry and discrimination in all forms, against all people. ADL University will offer an opportunity for participants to learn more about vital issues that impact us as Jews and members of the broader community.

ADL University will include four sessions, held on a monthly basis beginning in January, 2010. The first three sessions will be held at Congregation Agudath Sholom, Temple Beth El, and Temple Sinai, culminating with a final session at the Stamford JCC. This community-wide program is an excellent way to learn more about ADL and to join together as a larger community to address timely and important matters of concern. Specific sessions, which will each take place from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., will include:

  • January 14, 2010 – Global and Domestic Anti-Semitism in the 21st Century: Assessing the “New” Anti-Semitism, Anti-Zionism, and the Danger of Hate Groups and Extremists
  • February 23, 2010 – Safeguarding Liberty: Protecting and Defending Civil Rights, Church-State Separation and Religious Freedom, and Balancing Counterterrorism Efforts and Civil Liberties
  • March 15, 2010 – The Arab-Israeli Conflict and the Threat Posed by a Nuclear Armed Iran
  • April 26, 2010 – Responding to Anti-Semitism and Bigotry: Practical Strategies for You and Your Family

A registration fee of $50 per person will be charged for participation in ADL University, which will include enrollment in all four the sessions. If you are able to be a part of this unique program, please complete the enclosed Registration Form and submit it, along with your payment of $50 per participant, to ADL, 1952 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT 06517 by December 15, 2009. If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact Randi Pincus at (203) 288-6500, ext. 317.

We encourage you to take advantage of this special opportunity, and look forward to working with you in the coming year to learn more about issues that are so important to the Jewish community here in Connecticut, around the country and throughout the world.
