2018 Instructions for Proxy Voting

If you do not plan to attend the 2018 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m., you may submit a proxy indicating your voting instructions either (1) electronically by clicking here, or (2) in hardcopy by printing out the Proxy Authorization form. Proxy Authorization forms are also available at the synagogue office.

There are two matters that will be placed before the membership for voting at the Annual Meeting:

  1. Approval for the slate of nominees proposed by the Nominating Committee to replace those Trustees whose terms on the Board are expiring June 30. (Bios of first-term nominees can be found by clicking here.)
  2. Approval for changes to the TBE By-laws. (To review these changes, click here.)

Please review the material found on these links before casting your proxy vote.

All proxy votes must adhere to the following rules:

  • Only TBE members in good standing are allowed to vote, either in person or by proxy.
  • All completed Proxy Authorization forms must be received by the TBE office no later than 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16.
  • Hardcopy Proxy Authorization forms can be returned to TBE either by:
    1. Mail to (or drop off at) Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT 06902. Please mail early enough to reach the TBE office by the deadline.
    2. By fax to (203) 322-0532.

Note: According to the current Bylaws of Temple Beth El (TBE), “both parties of a marriage or civil union shall be deemed as one Member,” which means that each household may cast only one vote, either in-person or by proxy, on business matters brought before the congregation at membership meetings.

If you vote by proxy and later decide to attend the Annual Meeting, your proxy can be revoked so that you may vote in person.

Please contact Steve Lander at (203) 322-6901, ext. 304, with any questions regarding voting procedure.
