ShulCloud FAQs

We are delighted to bring ShulCloud to our Temple Beth El community. The ShulCloud platform will help us streamline your membership experience by bringing your ability to make donations, register for events, pay membership dues, track yahrzeits, and more all into one place! We know learning a new system can be challenging for everyone, so we plan to introduce new functions gradually, sunsetting legacy processes and systems as we move forward. The FAQs below will help smooth the initial learning process. As always, feel free to reach out to the TBE office at (203) 322-6901 or email shulcloud@tbe.org with questions!

Note: It is highly recommended that you use Chrome, Safari or Firefox as your Internet browser when accessing ShulCloud.

Q. What is ShulCloud?

A. ShulCloud is a cloud-based membership and financial management software platform used by over 900 synagogues throughout the United States.

Q. What can I do with ShulCloud?

A. ShulCloud, with its secure login, offers you a streamlined and highly personalized online experience. With ShulCloud, you can:

  • Register and pay for TBE events and classes
  • Review and update family information
  • Make payments and donations by eCheck or credit card
  • See your account in real-time, including our financial transactions history
  • Access TBE’s membership database

Q. How do I get started?

A. You should have received an email inviting you to log in, create a password, and review/update your personal information. We strongly recommend that each adult family member take the time to complete this set up. In addition, we strongly encourage you to login any time you want to make a financial transaction with TBE. This will ensure that all payments and donations are properly categorized and recorded. Each adult in your family must have a UNIQUE email address, which will be used as that person’s username.

Q. What if I didn’t receive my invitation to log in to my account?

A. Email us at shulcloud@tbe.org, and we will send you a new email invitation. Registration links are valid for seven days.

Q. What about members who do not have an email address?

A. Members without an email address will continue to receive important correspondence by regular mail and assistance from the TBE office.

Q. How do I access ShulCloud once I complete my initial set up?

A. To login, go to the TBE website at www.tbe.org and click “Members Only” located at the top of the page. Then click “Login” at the upper right corner of the ShulCloud website. Enter your username (your email address) and password. Over the next year, we will be integrating our website and the ShulCloud website to create one seamless platform.

Q. I forgot or do not have my password. What do I do?

A. Click on the “Forgot Password” link on the login screen to receive an automated reset email prompting you to set up a new password. A “strong” password should be eight characters or longer and contain a combination of upper and lower case letters and at least one number and special character.

Q. Can I update my personal information on the ShulCloud website?

A. Yes! We encourage you to make updates everywhere necessary. Once you log in with your username and password, a “Welcome [Your Name]” will replace the login link. Click on the “My Account” link in the bar above the home-page image. Scroll through the options on the icons in the “My Personal and Family Information” section, and use the edit tool to add/update your information, including address, contact phone number(s), email address, birthday, photo, etc. Remember to click “Save Changes to Account” whenever you update your data!

Note: For Yahrtzeit changes/additions, please contact Mindy in the TBE office at mindyk@tbe.org. You cannot make these updates to your account at this time directly.

Your basic information will be added to the online Member Directory. The directory is view only and cannot be downloaded or shared by anyone. You can control what information, if any, is viewable by editing your directory listing.

Q. Why don’t my children over the age of 24 show up on my account?

A. Based on TBE’s bylaws only children who have not yet reached their 25th birthday, reside with an adult member and are not paying membership dues are considered part of the family household and your account. Children who do not meet these criteria are usually moved into their own account and linked back to yours. Only the office can manage these relationships. If you find a relationship we’ve missed, please email the office at lindar@tbe.org to let us know, and we’ll fix it. DO NOT ADD any children that you have who are 25 years of age or older to your account!

Q. Who can see my financial information?

A. The only people who can see your financial information are you and authorized TBE administrative staff.

Q. Is my credit card and ACH information that I store for my account account secure?

A. Absolutely! Neither TBE nor ShulCloud stores credit card or banking information on its servers. Furthermore, all information is tokenized, and ShulCloud uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to encrypt all payment transactions.

Q. What if I do not want to donate or pay online?

A. You can always donate or pay by check. However, it saves us time if you pay online and reduces the chance for human error, so we hope as many members as possible will do so. If you choose to send checks, we ask that you allow one week before payments to appear on your account, and always mail or bring your checks to the TBE office.

Q. Can non-members use the TBE ShulCloud website?

A. Yes. Non-members can make donations and register for events and classes through the website. However, as you would expect, there may be some member-only content that they won’t be able to see.

Q. Can I use the TBE ShulCloud website without logging in?

A. Yes, you can. However, the autofill feature will not be enabled if you are not logged in while filling out a form or registering for an event, program or class, and that activity will not be associated with you/your account. We strongly encourage you to login when using any form, donating or making a payment so that the information or transaction is correctly associated with your TBE account.

Q. The member section isn’t working for me, and I am frustrated?

A. We appreciate your patience as we roll out this new platform and all its features. Our administrative staff will provide support over the next several months to help congregants learn to navigate the new system. If you have questions, please email shulcloud@tbe.org or call the office at (203) 322-6901.
