Place : Temple Beth El 350 Roxbury Road Stamford, CT 06902
Cost : Free

This year’s Hyacinthe and Harold E. Hoffman Memorial Lecture brings to Stamford a live taping of the world’s leading Jewish podcast. Unorthodox is a smart, fresh, fun weekly take on Jewish news and culture, produced by Tablet Magazine and hosted by Mark Oppenheimer, Stephanie Butnick, and Liel Leibovitz, co-authors of The Newish Jewish Encyclopedia: From Abraham to Zabar’s and Everything in Between, which will be published in October.

Joining the three hosts will be Rabbi Joseph Telushkin, renowned spiritual leader and scholar, and acclaimed author of more than 15 books on Judaism, and Farooq Kathwari, chairman, president and CEO of Ethan Allen, and co-chair of the Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council.

Since its debut in August 2015, Unorthodox has become one of the most popular and beloved Jewish podcasts, with nearly 4 million downloads coming from all over the U.S. and the world. Roughly, one quarter of its audience is international, with listeners not just in Canada and the UK and Israel but also far flung places like Paraguay, Djibouti, Greenland, and even the United Arab Emirates.

Your summer assignment: subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, or click here to download prior episodes, and see why Unorthodox has taken the Jewish world by storm.

Doors open at 6:45 pm. A Kosher dessert reception will follow.

This year, due to sell-out crowds at previous venues, we are asking for reservations. To reserve your tickets, click here
