Rabbi Neal Rose
Rabbi Dr. Neal Rose received rabbinic ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in 1967 and holds a Doctorate in Hebrew Letters from the Hebrew Union College in Jewish Philosophy.
Rabbi Rose was a professor in the Department of Religion and Judaic Studies at the University of Manitoba (U of M) in Canada for over 35 years. In addition to his academic position at the U of M, Rabbi Rose taught at the University of Winnipeg’s Departments of Religion and Theology and received an Associate’s Degree (post-graduate studies for clergy) in Family Therapy from the Faculty of Theology. He also was a faculty member at the Aurora Family Therapy Centre at the U of W, teaching courses on loss & grief as well as ethnicity & family therapy.
Rabbi Rose was also in private practice as an Interfaith Pastoral Counselor, developing a loyal client base as a Spiritual guide/therapist for many Christian clergy members in Winnipeg. After retirement he became the founding Director of Spiritual Care for the Jewish community’s long-term care home in Winnipeg (The Simkin Center)
After moving from Canada to St. Louis, MO, Rabbi Rose was the Senior Rabbinic Scholar at Congregation B’nai Amoona for close to 18 yrs. He also served as a chaplain for the Jewish Family & Child Services Department of Elder Care.
Carol Rose
Carol Rose is a writer, spiritual counselor, and educator. She holds an MA in Theology, as well as degrees in Religion, and Cross Cultural Education. She received certification as a Mashpi’ah, (Minister/Spiritual Director) & Maggid (Preacher) from Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, (Jan. 2005).
Carol trained with therapist, Mme. Colette Aboulker-Muscat, in the use of Mental Imagery – a technique that uses guided exercises drawn from biblical, liturgical & Jewish mystical sources. She currently teaches this method, in small group settings, with students interested in personal growth, enhanced creativity, & spiritual development. She is compiling a book of exercises which she hopes to publish in the not-too-distant future.
Carol’s poetry & essays appear in literary journals & anthologies in the United States, Canada, & Israel. Books in print include:

In 2015, Rabbi Rose and Carol received the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for the Advancement of Inter-religious Understanding. In 2017, Rabbi Rose was honored with the Jubilee Award from the Rabbinical Assembly of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism) for 50 years of outstanding service in the rabbinate.
The couple has been married for almost 60 years. Together they have five children and are proud grandparents to 16 beautiful grandchildren.
