At Temple Beth El, we believe that prayer can add great depth and meaning to our lives and to the live of the community. To that end, we aim to create services that are musical, meditative and meaningful, accessible and spiritually enriching for people of all different backgrounds.

Shabbat

For thousands of years, Shabbat has been the centerpiece of the Jewish week, a time when Jewish communities have come together to reaffirm identity, establish goals and strengthen bonds of love and concern. At its best, the experience is both relaxing and stimulating, and the air is filled with harmonious music and challenging dialog. There are times when we join together to raise our voices in unison and others when we each reflect on more private concerns. Always, however, we are here to support one another, in friendship and in love.

Guaranteed minyans are available for those observing a yahrtzeit by contacting the synagogue office at (203) 322-6901. As an egalitarian synagogue, Temple Beth El counts both men and women in forming a minyan.

* On weekdays, whenever Stamford Public Schools are cancelled OR delayed, TBE’s morning minyan is cancelled.  The public school website can be found here. On Sundays, holidays or school vacation days, we will send out an email to indicate if minyan will be cancelled.

Friday night and Shabbat morning adult services are never officially cancelled (though school events and children’s services might be); we ask that people use their best judgment in deciding whether to come here.  Keep in mind that we do not send out emails or social media posts from sundown Friday until Saturday evening.
