Join us for a special Kabbalat Shabbat with Cantor Fishman and the Nava Tehila Ensemble from Jerusalem.
The ensemble is part of the Nava Tehila (Hebrew for “beautiful praise”) Jewish Renewal Congregation, which was founded in a Jerusalem living room on Shabbat Shirah 2005 and has become one of the world’s most innovative musical prayer communities. Its original melodies are now heard and sung in synagogues across Israel and around the globe.
Rooted in Middle Eastern, Hasidic, contemporary Israeli, and world music, the ensemble’s music — celebratory, meditative, joyful, and reflective —will connect to your spirit, fill your heart, and lift up your soul.
Ensemble musicians include Daphna Rosenberg, Yoel Sykes, Jeremy Marais and Moshe Kedem.
The Scholar in Residence Program is sponsored by Michael Horowitz in loving memory of Penny Horowitz, z”l, Bessie Silver, z”l, and Millie reiss, z”l.
